The SDLP leader, Mark Durkan, has sharply criticised Sinn Féin, accusing the party of looking after only its own interests in negotiations in the peace process.

In an address to his party's annual conference in Derry, Mr Durkan also criticised Sinn Féin's definition of a crime and its refusal to accept the IRA was responsible for the multi-million pound Northern Bank robbery before Christmas.

The Foyle Assembly member said Sinn Féin was using the mandate they got from nationalist voters to deny the IRA have committed crimes.

SDLP calls for bureau to target paramilitaries.

The SDLP Spokesman on Justice, Alban McGuinness, has called for the establishment of a cross-border Criminal Assets Bureau.

In an address to his party's annual conference in Derry, Mr McGuinness said the proposed bureau should target pockets of crime gangs and paramilitaries.

He said it was time for an all-Ireland network whose aim would be to strip criminals of their illegal earnings.

Gerry Conlon of the Guildford Four, was also addressing the conference today.
