The Standards in Public Office Commission is to meet on Friday to consider whether to hold an investigation into Transport Minister Martin Cullen's awarding of PR contracts.
The commission is to decide if there are grounds for investigating whether ethics legislation was breached when a number of contracts were awarded to Minister Cullen's political associate, Monica Leech.
A separate inquiry, by former Chairman of the Revenue Commissioners Dermot Quigley, found no evidence of any impropriety on the minister's part.
