The Labour Court has recommended that the national minimum wage should be increased to €7.65 per hour from 1 May next.

It currently stands at €7 per hour, but it was agreed last June in the national wage agreement, Sustaining Progress, that the Labour Court would review it.

The court's recommendation was sent to Minister of State Tony Killeen today.

Mr Killeen now has three months to consider whether or not to authorise the increase.
