A US judge has ruled that the Guantanamo military tribunals for terrorism suspects are unconstitutional.

The ruling is a setback for the Bush administration.

District Judge Joyce Hens Green also ruled that the Guantanamo prisoners have constitutional protections under the law.

She ruled that the procedures implemented by the US government, to confirm that prisoners are 'enemy combatants' who are subject to indefinite detention, violate these prisoners' rights to due process.
