A search of the location surrounding the area where the body of 11-year-old Robert Holohan was found on Wednesday has been taking place in Co Cork.
The operation involved a search of the river close to the area in which the body was found and nearby Inch Strand.
Gardaí say they are still looking for information on a number of vehicles seen in the Midleton area on the day of Robert's disappearance, Tuesday, 4 January.
They are particularly looking for information on a white pick-up truck that was sighted near Robert's home around the time of his disappearance.
The identity of a well-dressed man seen in Egan's Field on the same day is still not known.
Robert died of asphyxiation
Earlier, detectives investigating the murder confirmed that Robert died of asphyxiation. However, gardaí say that there is no evidence of sexual assault.
The preliminary report has now been completed but gardaí say they have yet to fully establish the time and place of death.
The post mortem examination was carried out at Cork University Hospital until late last night by the State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy.
It has also been confirmed that Robert's funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at the Holy Rosary Church in Midleton.
Local priest Fr Billy O'Donovan said Robert's body would be brought to the family home for a private ceremony before tomorrow's funeral mass.
Gardaí say their murder incident room in Midleton received more than 100 calls from the public after media coverage of last night's news conference.
