Boy dies after Co Tyrone hit-and-run crash

A three-year-old Co Tyrone boy has died in hospital after being struck by a car in Donemana, near Strabane yesterday afternoon.

The boy, Adam Mullen, and his mother were in Allen Park in the village of Donemana yesterday afternoon when a white Peugeot 309 car mounted the kerb and struck them.

The 22-year-old man driving the car involved did not stop and was later found dead in a quarry in the same area.

It is believed he may have taken his own life.  A post mortem is being carried out on his body.
