More than 300 people have been killed in flash flooding and landslides in the northern Philippines.

The Filipino government said three towns were devastated in Quezon province, some 50 miles east of the capital, Manila.

Continuing bad weather and darkness severely hampered relief
efforts as rescuers tried to reach 150 people missing in Real, one
of the three devastated towns.
