Finucane family critical of inquiry terms
Friday, 26 November 2004 23:13The family of the murdered Belfast solicitor, Pat Finucane, have said they can not take part in any inquiry into his murder under the terms set out in newly-published British-govt legislation.
They said the Inquiries Bill did not comply with recommendations set out by the Canadian judge, Peter Cory, who investigated the case.
In a statement, the Finucane family said they were concerned that the inquiry's independence and powers would be restricted.

Mr Finucane was shot dead in front of his family at his north Belfast home by members of the Ulster Defence Association in February 1989.
