The Minister for the Environment, Dick Roche, is expected to make a decision soon on whether to proceed with the present controversial route of the M3 motorway.

Under the National Monuments Act, it is Mr Roche who has to give the go-ahead for the multi-million euro development as historic sites have been discovered along the proposed route.

A small group of protestors staged a demonstration outside the Dáil today as part of their ongoing campaign of opposition to the present routing of the motorway near the Hill of Tara.

The Save Tara/Skryne Valley campaign is planning to hold a protest march through the streets of Dublin this weekend.
