Dana switches attention to Oireachtas members
Thursday, 30 September 2004 16:42Dana Rosemary Scallon has given up attempting to secure the backing of four local authorities in order to secure a presidential nomination.
A spokesperson for the former MEP said Ms Scallon was still trying to get the backing of 20 members of the Oireachtas to allow her to enter the race for Áras an Uachtaráin.
If Ms Scallon fails to get sufficient Oireachtas backing then President Mary McAleese will be the sole candidate for the office.
