The US Secretary of State, Colin Powell, has acknowledged that the level of insurgency in Iraq is getting worse and said that his government will have to increase its efforts to defeat it.
The US Secretary of State, Colin Powell, has acknowledged that the level of insurgency in Iraq is getting worse and said that his government will have to increase its efforts to defeat it.
In an interview, Mr Powell said that organising elections throughout Iraq in January could be difficult, but added that it would be premature to say a full free poll throughout the country was not possible.
