President Mary McAleese has nominated herself as a candidate for the office of President.
President Mary McAleese has nominated herself as a candidate for the office of President.
The move is in accordance with article 12 of the Constitution.
A statement on her behalf says nomination papers have been submitted to the Presidential Returning Officer at the Department of the Environment.
