Israeli woman killed in Gaza mortar attack

An Israeli woman has been killed in a mortar attack on a Jewish settlement in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army said a shell landed on the woman's house.

It is the first time anyone has been killed in one of the frequent mortar attacks on Jewish settlements.

It is reported that Israeli tanks responded by firing on the nearby Palestinian town of Khan Younis, injuring two Palestinians.
