Dana Rosemary Scallon has confirmed she is to begin approaching members of the Oireachtas on a cross party basis to see if she can secure a nomination to run for the presidency.
The former MEP needs the signatures of 20 TDs and senators to allow her enter the race.
Dana has also confirmed she will continue her efforts to secure the nomination from four local authorities.
According to her brother, John Brown, she is still targeting some of the 15 local authorities, which are due to hold meetings next Monday.
Mr Brown said the campaign has now decided on a twin track approach to secure a nomination because of what he called the undemocratic methods of the main political parties to block her entering the presidential race through the county councils.
