Probe launched into Luas collision

The Chief Railway Inspecting Officer is investigating a collision of two LUAS trams in Dublin City centre this afternoon.

The Chief Railway Inspecting Officer is investigating a collision of two LUAS trams in Dublin City centre this afternoon.

Three people received minor injuries and the driver of one of the trams was taken to hospital suffering from shock.

Four units of Dublin Fire Brigade were sent to the scene of the crash.

The driver of one of the Luas trams has been taken to hospital. He is believed to be suffering from shock.

Connex, the company that runs Luas, said the two trams were travelling very slowly at the time of the crash.

The company said windows on the vehicles had been broken in the collision.

Normal Luas services have resumed.
