Italian police have defused two bombs close to the holiday home of the country's Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, only hours after a visit by his British counterpart, Tony Blair.
The two devices were found in a village on the island of Sardinia after an anonymous telephone call claiming to be from a left-wing group that has been responsible for other bombings.
Mr Blair and his wife Cherie had spent about 24 hours in the nearby house as Mr Berlusconi's guests.
