UN condemns refugee massacre in Burundi

The United Nations Security Council has condemned the massacre of 160 refugees in Burundi.

The United Nations Security Council has condemned the massacre of 160 refugees in Burundi.

In a statement, the UN appealed to the governments in Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo to establish the facts and report back as quickly as possible.

It urged both governments to co-operate in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The rebel Burundian Hutu National Liberation Forces have claimed responsibility for Friday's massacre.
