US President George Bush has visited Florida to tour the wreckage from 'Hurricane Charlie' that killed at least 13 people.
He assured the people of Florida that help is on the way to ease their suffering after one million homes were left without power.
On his visit to the area today, Mr Bush assessed the damage in hard-hit Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda along Florida's Gulf coast.
He has already issued a disaster declaration for the area, freeing up federal emergency funds for the state.
The category 4 storm took many people in the southwestern part of the state by surprise because of its intensity and its path of movement.
The hurricane has now subsided to a tropical storm and is moving up Florida's west coast.
