Farm groups have called for sheep farmers in Co Louth to be treated sensitively in the processing of new subsidy entitlements in the coming months.
Farm spokesmen say they are not defending farmers who falsely claimed payments during the foot and mouth crisis.
However, they say they want people on the Cooley Penninsula to be treated sympathetically.
