Three Irish injured in Prague blast

watch

Three Irish citizens are among 16 people who were injured when a grenade was thrown from a car in the centre of the Czech Republic capital, Prague, earlier today.

The Irish victims' injuries are thought to be minor. One is said to have suffered an injury to his ankle.

The grenade exploded outside a casino and reports from the scene suggest the casino's owners were the target. The incident took place in a shopping street just off Wenceslas Square.

Czech authorities say criminals, rather than terrorists, were behind the attack.
