The Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams says he still believes the police raid on the party offices in Stormont, which led to the collapse of the North's power-sharing executive, was politically motivated.

Mr Adams was commenting on reports that an investigation by the police ombudsman will say that the operation was justified.

He criticised what he claimed were selective leaks of the Ombudsman's report by the Northern Ireland office.

At the time the PSNI Chief Constable Hugh Orde said he believed the Stormont raid could have been carried out in a more sensitive and more appropriate style.
