Three cases of BSE in past week

There were three cases of BSE during the past week, bringing the total so far this year to 71.

There were three cases of BSE during the past week, bringing the total so far this year to 71.

There were no outbreaks during the previous three weeks. The overall trend continues downward.

So far, there have been 36 less cases than in the same period in 2003, and 120 less than for the first six months of 2002.

This week's outbreaks in Cavan and Cork involved animals over seven years old.
