Norway has followed Ireland to become the second country in the world to outlaw smoking in all bars and restaurants.

The new law came into effect today.

Smoking had already been outlawed in other workplaces in Norway.

Unlike the Irish law, the sole responsibility for enforcement in Norway lies with the owners, who risk large fines for allowing smokers to keep lighting up.
