250 protest in Limerick on NCT

Over 250 people protested in Abbeyfeale in Co Limerick today against the National Car Testing scheme.

Over 250 people protested in Abbeyfeale in Co Limerick today against the National Car Testing scheme.

It was claimed that it was the first protest of its kind since the scheme came into place four years ago.

Organisers say that they hope to extend the protests nationwide and are planning a similar protest for Limerick City in three weeks time.

The protestors claim that the NCT is an unhealthy monopoly and want extra competition and tighter controls on failure rates.
