The results of a new opinion poll suggest that a clear majority will vote in favour of the Government's proposal on citizenship in next month's referendum.

However, the survey for The Irish Times shows that one in five people remain uncertain how they will vote.

54% of the respondents said they would be voting in favour of the change, while 24% said they would be voting against. The remaining 22% were undecided.

Fianna Fáil and the Progressive Democrats are campaigning in favour of the change and Fine Gael is also calling for a Yes vote.
Those opposed include Labour, the Greens, Sinn Féin and a number of smaller parties and independents.
