Two get life sentence for Scully murder

Two 21-year-old men have been sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of the murder of a 28-year-old man who they attacked in Cork City in 2002.

Two 21-year-old men have been sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of the murder of a 28-year-old man who they attacked in Cork City in 2002.

Paul Sheehan and Ross Stapleton, both of The Glen, Cork, had pleaded not guilty to the murder of Christian Scully, of Togher, Cork, on 17 October 2002.

Mr Scully fell into a coma after being beaten up by the two men on a city centre street in the early hours of 28 January 2002 and died nine months later.
