The chief executive of Independent Newspapers in Ireland, Vincent Crowley, has said he was confident that the titles would continue to be published in the event of strike action by unions at the company.
Speaking on RTE News he said the company was close to achieving the target of 205 voluntary redundancy with almost 190 employees now having said they would accept the offer.
He said that being a prudent employer, the company planed for all sorts of contingencies.
He said the company had contingency plans in place in the event of a withdrawal of labour and he was confident the titles would continue to be published.
