Two Britons killed in Afghanistan

The Foreign Office in London has confirmed that two Westerners killed by unidentified attackers in northeastern Afghanistan today were British.

The Foreign Office in London has confirmed that two Westerners killed by unidentified attackers in northeastern Afghanistan today were British.

The Britons and their Afghan interpreter were working for British security firm Global Risk in the run-up to the Afghan elections. They were killed in the Mandol district of Nuristan province.

The United Nations said the incident a setback to Afghanistan's fragile election preparations.
