The Fianna Fáil TD, Beverly Flynn, has said she feels personally let down by moves to expel her from the party.
Speaking on RTÉ's Prime Time programme, she again denied assisting or encouraging tax evasion and said that, while employed by the National Irish Bank, she was simply doing her job.
She added that she felt she was carrying a heavy burden on behalf of banking in Ireland.
However, the Taoiseach has said he is not prepared to change his mind on the issue of expelling Ms Flynn, a move which comes after she lost her appeal against a High Court decision on a libel action she took against RTÉ.
