A retired senior British officer criticised a number of high-ranking gardaí at the Barr Tribunal today, for what he said he regarded as their lack of involvement in the Abbeylara siege.
Michael Burdis, who was involved in a number of firearms and siege related incidents throughout his career, told the inquiry that the command structure of the officers at the siege was unclear.
He said high-ranking officials seemed to take a back seat role in the proceedings.
