Galway council accused of CCTV spying

A member of Galway City Council has accused the council of using closed circuit cameras and private investigators to spy on citizens.

Alderman Catherine Connolly claimed at the Labour Party conference that CCTV had been used inappropriately to monitor private citizens.

She further claimed that private investigators had monitored people on the housing list.
