US airline cancels flight

The American airline Continental became the third operator to cancel flights to the United States due to fears of a terrorist attack.

Continental cancelled its flight from Glasgow to Los Angeles after the US Department of Homeland Security said it had specific, credible information that passenger jets were threatened.

British Airways and Air France cancelled seven of today's scheduled flights to and from Washington and Miami.
