A 43-year-old married man from Co Tipperary appeared before New Ross District Court this morning charged with robbery and assault.

The charges arise from an incident in which a boutique owner, Diane Hamilton, was robbed and assaulted at her premises in New Ross last Wednesday.

Francis Guilfoyle, of Kennedy Park in Thurles, was arrested in Tipperary yesterday.
