Lawlor faces assets sale to cover debts

A High Court decision has cleared the way for the Planning Tribunal to take legal proceedings that could lead to the sale of Liam Lawlor's home.

A High Court decision has cleared the way for the Planning Tribunal to take legal proceedings that could lead to the sale of Liam Lawlor's home and lands in Lucan, Co Dublin.

The former Fianna Fáil TD must satisfy debts of €575,000 owed in legal costs to the tribunal.

It is seeking 'well charging' orders against Mr Lawlor's family home and lands at Somerton, which is valued at between €3m and €4m.

In separate proceedings, the High Court directed Mr Lawlor last November to pay €275,000 to solicitor Dermot P Coyne who had represented him.
