Irish Sugar workers reject company plan

Workers at Irish Sugar have rejected a plan for the company's future by a margin of two-to-one.

The company employs 400 full-time and 200 seasonal workers at its processing plants at Mallow in Co Cork and in Carlow.

An Irish Sugar spokesman said that the company is now considering its position.
