It is reported from the central African state of Burundi that the country's last remaining insurgent group has given the head of the Catholic Bishops' Conference there one month to leave the country.

The head of the conference, Simon Ntamwana, had accused the National Liberation Forces (FNL) of murdering the Irish-born Papal Nuncio to Burundi, Archbishop Michael Courtney, who was fatally shot on Monday.

Mr Ntamwana described the attack as an execution.

The FNL denies any involvement in the shooting, saying the Burundian Army was responsible.
