Around €500,000 worth of counterfeit DVDs and copying equipment was foundthis evening when gardaí from Dundalk raided a large shed in a rural part of Co Louth.
Gardaí found a de-facto production centre, with machines capable of copying 18 DVDs at a time running in the shed.
A number of colour photocopiers and scanners were found as well as what appeared to be an order book with the names of people and the number and title of movies they wanted.
The shed was found at Walshestown around four miles from Ardee town. No arrests were made but gardaí are investigating a possible link between this and other recent seizures.
Counterfeit DVDs such as those found are generally sold at open air markets in the North East region.
