Development Minister Tom Kitt has said that during its forthcoming Presidency of the EU, the government would be doing everything possible to get the World Trade Talks back on track.

The Minister said that the Irish Presidency would work to ensure the modification of those EU positions which contributed to the collapse of the talks earlier this year.

Mr Kitt was speaking at the National Forum on Europe session on the Irish Presidency priorities for Development and the fight against HIV/AIDS at the Axis Theatre in Ballymun, North Dublin.

The session was also addressed by Ugandan Dr Alex Coutinho, Director of the TASO HIV/AIDS support group, and Justin Kilcullen, Director of Trócaire.
