Argentina seeking apology from BritainSunday 07 December 2003 07.40
The Argentine president, Nestor Kirchner, has said he wants Britain to apologise for transporting nuclear weapons on British ships during the Falklands war in 1982.
On Friday, the British government admitted that some nuclear weapons were sent to the Falkland Islands, but also said that the arms were never used nor intended to be used.
The British government also claimed that the weapons were transferred between vessels and thus they did not enter regional territorial waters.
The Argentine president said that his government was considering what actions to take, but said that international relations between the two would not be damaged.
