Nuclear arms on Falkland ships: UK MoD

Britain's Ministry of Defence has confirmed that some British warships which took part in the Falkland campaign in 1982 were carrying nuclear weapons.

The MoD said several ships had nuclear depth charges used for destroying submarines, but that there was no question of using them.

It said nuclear weapons were transferred from ship to ship to prevent any of them from being within a Latin American zone.
