Most Luas works to cease for Christmas

Most Luas works in Dublin will cease for the next five weeks during Operation Freeflow, the annual plan to manage Dublin traffic during the Christmas period.

This is the eighth year of the operation, which runs until 5 January.

Increased powers for gardaí to breathalyse motorists also come into effect today.

Gardaí will now be able to breathalyse motorists if they commit road traffic offences or are involved in an accident.
