ESAT BT has announced a new plan for residential customers which will allow them to make all their local and national calls for ¤25 a month.
The company says the service is available to anyone with residential landline and will provide substantial savings for customers.
The telecoms market was deregulated five years ago and ESAT BT says it wants to increase its market share which stands at 5%.
The company says the new plan will mean substantial savings for customers.
The offer is not limited to ESAT customers - anyone with a residential land-line can use the service once they register with ESAT BT.
ESAT says the scheme takes away the confusion of call charges for customers and covers all local and national calls up to an hour in duration. If they wish to do so, customers can simply hang up before the hour is up and re-dial.
A company spokesman said there are very few householders who do not wait with some trepidation each month for the phone bill to arrive.
The ¤25 charge includes VAT and at the moment does not cover Internet or international calls.
The company says it may add these to the package in the future and is also looking at expanding into the business market.
