Bertie Ahern Hopeful of NI review outcome
The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern says he will invite the DUP leader, Ian Paisley, and deputy leader Peter Robinson to Dublin for talks with an open agenda.
Speaking on RTÉ's This Week, Mr Ahern also denied that the SDLP had been marginalised in the run-up to the election.
Earlier, Mr Ahern expressed the hope that a review of the Good Friday Agreement planned for early in the new year will resolve some of the difficulties raised by last week's elections in the North.
In an interview on Sky News, Mr Ahern said the review could open the way to possible solutions other than the renogiation of the Good Friday Agreement that the DUP is insisting on.
IRA must disband: Robinson
Earlier, Mr Robinson said that the IRA must repent and disband as an organisation.
Mr Robinson says if that were to happen it would transform the situation in Northern Ireland.
He also said that he has no problem talking to the Irish Government on matters of mutual concern.
