15,000 march in Ennis over Hanly report

Around 15,000 people have marched in Ennis, Co Clare in protest at the implications of the Hanly Report for Ennis General Hospital.

Around 15,000 people have marched in Ennis, Co Clare in protest at the implications of the Hanly Report for Ennis General Hospital.

The hospital's Accident and Emergency Unit could be downgraded if the Hanly Report's recommendations are implemented with services transferred to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

The march was joined by a group from Nenagh in Co Tipperary who are protesting over similar implications for Nenagh General Hospital.
