McManus call on support for Hanly report

Labour's Liz Mc Manus has said the Minister for Health should tell the Dáil if he has the Cabinet's support in implementing the Hanly health service report.

Labour's Liz Mc Manus has said the Minister for Health should tell the Dáil if he has the support of the Cabinet for implementing the recommendations of the Hanly report on health service reform.

She was responding to reports that the Minister for Defence told a public meeting in Tipperary that he opppsed the report.

Michael Smith said he was echoing the concerns of his constituents that Nenagh General Hospital would be downgraded if the report is implemented.
