Govt advises against travel to Bolivia

The Dept of Foreign Affairs is advising against non-essential travel to Bolivia.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is advising against non-essential travel to Bolivia, following clashes over the past week which forced the president to resign.

The department says the security situation has deteriorated, and despite the inauguration of a new president travel within the country is subject to disruption.

The international airport at the capital, La Paz, is also closed.
