Funds to be given to landslide residents

Minister of State Tom Parlon has confirmed that he will make funds available to provide assistance to those affected by the north Mayo landslide.

Minister of State Tom Parlon has confirmed that he will make funds available to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by the recent north Mayo landslide.

In a statement this evening, he said officials from the Office of Public Works have already made contact with the Irish Red Cross to initiate a scheme of Humanitarian Aid over the coming days.

The Minister said the purpose was to relieve hardship and not provide compensation.
