Briton and American win Nobel medicine prize

A British scientist and an American scientist have been awarded the 2003 Nobel Prize for Medicine.

Briton Peter Mansfield and Paul Lauterbur of the United States were given the prize for discoveries which led to a method of producing three-dimensional images of organs inside the human body.

The announcement of the award was made in Stockholm this morning.
