US President, George W Bush has said al Qaeda is plotting further terrorist attacks and would be hunted down and defeated.
Speaking at an FBI laboratory on the eve of the second anniversary of the September 11th attacks, Mr Bush said the forces of terrorism could not be appeased and could not be ignored.
Earlier, the Arabic television station al Jazeera broadcast an audio tape said to be from the al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri, theatening more attacks against the United States.
The TV station also showed a videotape of the al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and Zawahri at an unknown location.
