The North Down Ulster Unionist MP, Sylvia Hermon, has called on the Republican movement to take the actions that are necessary to restore confidence in the Good Friday Agreement.

Lady Hermon, who is the wife of a former RUC chief constable, said Sinn Féin has an electoral mandate and praised the contribution made by its two ministers, Martin McGuinness and Bairbre de Brún in the former executive.

Speaking on RTÉ's 'This Week' programme she said that Unionists like her want to share power and move forward, but that Sinn Féin must cast away its paramilitary baggage.
